2 people hurt when driver hits cars, runs into building in Glendale

GLENDALE, AZ - Police say two people were hurt when a car crashed into a Glendale smoke shop Sunday afternoon.

Glendale police spokeswoman Tracey Breeden said they began getting calls around 3 p.m. of a car driving recklessly at a high rate of speed in a neighborhood near 47th and Olive avenues.

Breeden said the car went into the parking lot of a strip mall and hit two parked cars before plowing into the building.

A store clerk and the driver were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police did not immediately know if the driver was impaired.
