Red light runner blamed for Tempe crash

TEMPE, AZ - Three people were taken to the hospital after a driver ran a red light in Tempe Sunday morning.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. near Broadway Road and Priest Drive.

Police say an SUV heading westbound on Broadway ran a red light and slammed into a Bronco that was entering the intersection.

The Bronco driver was ejected from his vehicle. Two people on the sidewalk were injured when they were hit by debris from the crash. Crews said they may have also suffered anti-freeze burns.

All three people were taken to the hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
