The band, the cheerleaders, and the crowds - all things you'd associate with high school football on full display at Hamilton High in Chandler on Friday night.
"I'd come out and here, and it was exactly the same atmosphere," explains Aaron Campos, who graduated from Hamilton in 2014.
Campos also played on the school's football team, a team that made headlines for alleged hazing incidents that took place in the locker room.
"I don't think hazing is good in any situation," explains Campos. "And it looks like Hamilton has moved forward from there and they can extend that message to future generations."
Chandler police opened up an investigation into the school last year, after alleged hazing incidents came to light, involving the school's football team.
According to a Chandler Police, there were as many as eleven victims.
In all, three players were charged - two as minors and one as an adult. Just 17 at the time, Nathaniel Thomas is now facing several serious charges, and his trial is expected to begin Sept. 10th.
Amid the scandal, the school's principal, athletic director, and football coach were all re-assigned; none ever faced criminal charges stemming from the incidents.
At Friday night's game, parents we spoke to were focused on moving on, not looking into the past.
"We're looking forward," explained one mom, whose son plays on the football team. "We're not looking backward. We're excited about the new year and the new coach and trying to keep it positive."
