Chandler man, Tyler Dotson, arrested for leaving 3-month-old alone in apartment

CHANDLER, AZ - Police say a Chandler man is behind bars after leaving his 3-month-old son home alone in his apartment.

Chandler police spokesman Seth Tyler said on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. officers were sent to investigate a burglary call near Chandler Boulevard and Alma School Road.

Tyler said when officers arrived, they located Tyler Jeffrey Dotson, 26, who matched the description of the burglary suspect.

While talking to Dotson, officers determined he was not involved in the burglary, but that he did have narcotics in his possession.

Dotson told police he had left his young son unattended in his apartment.

Concerned for the boy's safety, officers went to Dotson's home near Pecos and Alma School roads and found the child home alone.

Police contacted the boy's mother, who left work and went to the apartment to pick him up.

Dotson was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on drug charges and child neglect.

Officers notified CPS of the incident. It is unclear at this time if any further charges will be filed.

Police arrested Christopher Allen Adams, 32, of Chandler in connection with the burglary.

He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on one count of burglary, possession of burglary tools, and theft.
