A half-dozen fires in the past month has at least one person living in a Chandler neighborhood taking action to try and prevent future incidents.

All six have been determined to be suspicious in nature and are under investigation by the Chandler police and fire departments.

The most recent one came Friday night when a fire burned a fence between two homes near McClintock and Chandler Boulevard.

One resident says he's worried that he might be next.

"I'm just worried about my house, my property," he said. "Everyone around here just works for a living and I don't want to wake up and find my house on fire."

Gilmore said he was worried enough he went driving around Saturday to try and look for suspicious activity.

So far, fires have ignited in two fences, a trailer, a car a shed and an empty house.

Authorities have not yet deemed the incidents as serial in nature, or officially classified them as arson.
