Fire departments called to PHX grocery store after employees felt sick

Phoenix fire says a hazmat team was investigating a situation at a grocery store after four people reportedly felt ill.

Phoenix and Glendale Fire Departments responded to the Fry’s Food and Drug supermarket near 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Phoenix Fire Department spokesperson, the manager called after a handful of his employees felt ill. However, after fire crews investigated, it was discovered that no dangerous chemicals were present.

No additional information was released in connection to the incident.
