Police identify man buried in machinery at Valley company

PHOENIX - Authorities have recovered the body of an employee who was buried deep in a hopper at a roofing tile manufacturing plant in west Phoenix.

Phoenix police identified the victim as 30-year-old Jantu Medrano. Authorities say he had been missing since late Thursday as he was completing his shift.

Authorities were called to the scene Friday morning and said part of the buried body could be seen in the hopper.

City firefighters had to dig down through several tons of sand to recover Medrano's body. His body was recovered around 1 p.m .

Police say homicide investigators are on the scene, but so far there's no indication of foul play.
