Two hikers had to be rescued from South Mountain Park after they suffered heat exhaustion.
PHOENIX - Authorities say two women had to be rescued from South Mountain Park Sunday after they became exhausted from the heat.
Phoenix fire Capt. Larry Nunez said the fire department's helicopter was used to find the patients then a technical crew assisted in evacuating the victims from the trail.
Nunez said the weather was hot and humid making it difficult for the patients and the fire crew.
He said it took about two hours to get the women off the mountain.
There were no injuries and the women were taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of heat exhaustion.
