Is it the new norm? Half a dozen different communities across Arizona have been forced to cancel their fireworks shows over drought and fire concerns.
Towns are having to get creative to lure in the crowds.
ABC15 went to Harold's Cave Creek Corral Tuesday night, which hosts the city's annual 3rd of July fireworks celebrations.

There's still a party going on, but not like prior years.
"Normally, the barbecue would be cooking right now with hamburgers, hot dogs, and a good ole' American celebration. And now, we just got cars parked here," says Danny Piacquadio, owner of Harold's.
The fireworks have been a Cave Creek staple for the past 25 years, but just weeks ago, an inspector with the city decided to recommend canceling them due to fire concerns.
"This was a much-needed busy day for us in town to help our businesses get that nest egg and help them through the slow summer months."
And Cave Creek isn't the only place having to re-group.
In Carefree Wednesday night, the town is hosting a drone show; you won't see any fireworks there.
And with the Valley and much of the state under an extreme drought, it doesn't appear conditions will improve any time soon.
"It's hard to predict what the future may hold, but this may be the new norm because fireworks aren't appropriate for these conditions," explains Shawn Gilleland with Rural Metro Fire.
Piacquadio says all eyes may not be on the skies this time, but he doesn't want to lose sight of what this holiday is all about.
"What are you gonna do? Still show your pride in American and that this is still a great community."
ABC15 spoke with Cave Creek's mayor Tuesday night. He's also hopeful a solution can be worked out so the fireworks can return in 2019.
