PHOENIX — A Valley company received "liquid gold" Wednesday - a donation of hand sanitizer from local cosmetic ingredient company Floratech.

Floratech typically supplies ingredients, not products. However, they recognized the need for hand sanitizer and had the supplies to make it.

"We're very happy to help because they're serving the people who wouldn't be able to get to retail or aren't able to isolate constantly," says Floratech President Steve Brown.

The donation was well received by the Arizonans 7th Street Food Pantry serves.

"It's like giving them cash almost. They realize it's something they absolutely need but they can't afford it or can't find it," said the food pantry's pastor Mathew McLamb.

The donation also couldn't come at a better time. McLamb says, "In the last three weeks, we've given out four or five times the boxes we normally do and we still have food for them." Thanks to good timing and the generosity of others McLamb adds.

7th Street Food Pantry distributes boxes of supplies multiple times per week. Hand sanitizer and toilet paper are in high demand.

Floratech plans to supply hand sanitizer as much as they can and as long as there's a need.
