Flooding and loss of power closed a trio of schools Tuesday morning as the remnants of Hurricane Rosa made their way across the state.

The following schools are closed:

  • Desert Horizon Elementary School in Phoenix. School will resume Wednesday.
  • Rainbow Valley Elementary School in Buckeye.
  • Rio Vista Elementary School in Avondale
  • Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center South Campus
  • All Maricopa Community College campuses will close at noon. They plan to open Wednesday for regular hours.

It's unclear if Rainbow Valley, Rio Vista an AZ Agribusiness will reopen Wednesday.

Desert Horizon said it was closed because of flooding. Rio Vista said it was closed because of a power outage.

Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center said on Facebook its South Campus would be closed because of heavy rains. All other campuses were reportedly open.
