Runners lace up to support blood cancer research in first "Be The Match" walk/run in Phoenix

PHOENIX - Runners and walkers rolled up their socks, laced up their shoes and hit the pavement to raise awareness and money to benefit blood cancer research.

Approximately 500 people joined ABC15 for Phoenix's first "Be The Match" walk/run Saturday morning at the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza.

ABC15 Morning Anchor Dan Spindle acted as emcee for Saturday's event, while several other familiar faces showed up to support finding a cure for lymphoma and leukemia.

Here at ABC15 we want to extend our thanks and appreciation for all that came out for the first "Be The Match" event here in Phoenix.
