Study indicates crime increases around stores.
PHOENIX - Residents battling against the expansion of Circle K convenience stores in their neighborhood will argue before a zoning hearing Thursday afternoon saying the fear crime will increase.
A Circle K is already at the corner of 7th Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Circle K is wanting to build across the street. That store would be 6 pump station.
An ASU Study will be presented at the hearing that indicates crime is higher tied to Circle K stores compared to other convenience stores.
Circle K does have a larger number of stores in the Valley cities cited in the study.
The hearing starts at 1:30 p.m. in Assembly Room C of Phoenix City Hall located at 200 West Washington.
