Police search for Ivan Rodriguez after he allegedly set his girlfriend on fire

PHOENIX - Police are searching for a man they say doused a woman with gasoline and set her on fire early Saturday.

Police say the 42-year-old victim has burns over 30 percent of her body.

Now they're looking for the woman's live-in boyfriend, 44-year-old Ivan Rodriguez.

Police report the victim returned to her home around 5 a.m. after a night out with a friend. Rodriguez, who is the father of the victim's children, became upset and they began arguing.

During an assault at their home near 32nd Street and McDowell Road, Rodriguez allegedly doused the victim with gasoline and set her on fire.

The woman was heard by others in the home screaming for help.

Rodriguez left the scene in a 2006 black Volkswagen Golf 2-door hatchback with an Arizona license plate of AWB9669.

The suspect is believed to have been burned during the incident.

Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Rodriguez was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray T-shirt with a design on the front, white baseball cap with black writing on the front, white tennis shoes. He will have serious burns to one of his forearms, according to police.

Police say he also goes by the name Silverio Gonzalez Trejo.
