Phoenix teacher arrested for allegedly touching 2 students

PHOENIX - A 45-year-old Phoenix teacher has been arrested for allegedly touching two of his students inappropriately.

Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said Alta Butler Elementary School teacher Eduardo Savinon was arrested on Thursday for two counts of molestation of a child, and one count of attempted molestation of a child.

Police say they were originally called to the school after a parent contacted the principal to complain that Savinon touched a girl inappropriately.

During the investigation, Phoenix police developed probable cause that Savinon touched two girls in his classroom in their private areas, under their dresses, but over the shorts they wore underneath their dresses.

Police believe all the incidents occurred while in the classroom. On one occasion, another student reportedly witnessed and interrupted an attempt to touch one of the female students.

Savinon has denied all of the allegations.

He has been booked into Maricopa County Jail.

Anyone who may have any additional information concerning these incidents is being asked to call Phoenix police at 602-262-6141.
