One incident occurred near 43rd Avenue and Roosevelt Street while officers were looking for street racers.

According to information from police, officers saw a vehicle driving erratically and attempted to stop the driver but he refused to stop.

The vehicle drove into a mobile home park in the area where the suspect got out of the vehicle. A police officer pulled her undercover vehicle behind the jeep and exited her vehicle.

Two officers were able to approach the suspect and gave him commands. The suspect raised and pointed his weapon towards officers and one of the officers fired at the suspect, police said.

Officers attempted to life-saving measures until Phoenix fire arrived. The 25-year-old suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

35th Avenue and Bell Road

The second incident occurred near 35th Avenue and Bell Road around 2 a.m. where officers were responding to a "shots fired" call.

Police arrived on scene to find a man in the street who pulled a gun on officers, firing at least one shot. The officers returned fire, killing the suspect, 20-year-old Bryce Schenkenberg.
