Authorities have identified the rider killed in a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon.
Phoenix police say the man, 66-year-old Gregory Drinkert, was following a vehicle too closely while riding on 3rd Street near Osborn Road.
The lead vehicle slowed and stopped for other traffic, causing Drinkert to crash into the rear of the vehicle, according to a police spokesman.
Investigators say there are no indications of impairment or other improper driving by anyone other than Drinkert.
