It's been a downright battle for a few years now.
Four phoenix neighborhoods are trying to get the FAA to change flight paths that were moved back 2014. Now they're taking their argument to court clear across the country.
The FAA says the new routes are more efficient. and safer. But neighbors whose homes now sit in the flight path say it's downright disruptive.
Attorneys for the four Phoenix neighborhoods and the City of Phoenix will argue Friday in Washington, D.C. in front of a three-judge panel they never knew about the move.
The FAA will also give its side. Steve Dresiseszun is leaving for D.C. Thursday morning. Although neighbors can't testify, he's going just to see this whole process through.
"Next-Gen is wonderful," said Dreiseszun. "Safer GPS guided navigation is wonderful but it doesn't have to create mayhem to everything and everybody on the ground."
Neighbors have had meetings with the FAA but three years later, the flight paths haven't changed. The neighborhoods are hoping maybe after Friday those routes will change.
