PHOENIX — A 36-year-old woman was hit and killed while crossing the street near 3rd Street and Baseline Road Wednesday night.
Phoenix police say a 69-year-old woman driving a Subaru Forester was headed westbound on Baseline around 8 p.m. when she hit a pedestrian crossing the road.
Police say the pedestrian, later identified as Kamalian McCormick, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver stayed on scene. Impairment may have been a factor in the crash.
Police say it’s not clear yet whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk.
