A Valley man is behind bars accused of punching a woman several times.

Court records show that on June 20 an officer in an unmarked car saw what appeared to be a struggle in a car near 19th avenue and Lower Buckeye road.

Authorities said Marc Robert Rainville, 44, picked up the victim from a friend's home and was driving, but would not let her leave.

The woman told police that she tried to escape from the vehicle while it was moving several times, but Rainville kept pulling it back in the vehicle. He also allegedly punched the woman several times in the face.

He was booked into jail and faces charges of kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and assault.

He was accused in March of a similar crime. In that case, he allegedly refused to let a woman leave her apartment.
