Two Arizona power companies tell ABC15 they should have enough power supply to avoid rolling blackouts during this week's excessive heat.

APS and SRP each serve more than 1 million customers, and their employees are closely monitoring weather conditions, power generation, and transmission capacity.
Arizonans put the most strain on the power grid during record hot weather like what's happening this week.
APS gave ABC15 a behind-the-scenes look at its operations center, where workers pinpoint power outages, find nearby repair crews, and estimate times to restore power.
"We basically serve 1.25 million customers and have over 29,000 miles of line, which we monitor on a day-in and day-out basis, especially in times where it's high temperatures, to make sure that we are providing safe and reliable power," said APS Director of Operations and Maintenance Tony Tewelis.
"We're looking at this week every year," SRP spokeswoman Patty Garcia-Likens said. "We're looking at how can we meet the demands of those customers during the times of the year that we're going to hit well over 110."
Both APS and SRP have websites and apps to help customers keep track of power outages in their area and repair times.
You can be prepared for an outage by creating an emergency kit, including a flashlight, batteries, water, and non-perishable food.
The utilities recommend customers keep air conditioning units well-maintained.
They also say people can save energy by sealing any leaks in door and windows, and keeping drapes or window shades closed during the day.
