At least two people were transported to the hospital after an apartment fire in Phoenix Friday night.

The blaze broke out around 8:30 p.m. at the complex near 32nd Street and Shea Road.

Phoenix fire officials say a 14-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and a 60-year-old man was transported in stable condition. Officials say both were trapped and rescued from the second story of a unit.

Initially, four people were trapped on the landing, but firefighters were able to rescue them safely, officials say.

A cat was also rescued from the first floor and successfully revived and reunited with its owner.

A Phoenix fire spokesperson said four apartment units suffered significant damage from the fire, which has displaced about 15 people.

Firefighters tell ABC15 that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
