FD: Fire at Phoenix apartment complex deemed 'suspicious'

PHOENIX - Officials say a fire that broke out at a Phoenix apartment complex is being considered suspicious.

Phoenix Fire Department officials said the fire broke out around 8 p.m. at the Montelano Apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Dunlap.

Officials said when crews arrived they found a vacant apartment on the second floor of the complex on fire.

Crews said they were able to contain the fire to just one unit.

Authorities said no one was injured and one family was displaced for the night.

Investigators are still trying to determine the official cause of the fire.
