With the primary election less than three weeks away, attack ads are back, especially in Arizona's U.S. Senate race.

Martha McSally's campaign had an attorney write letters to TV stations trying to get on ad off the air. It claims she's a liberal who supports amnesty for undocumented immigrants. It also claims she was acting when she said she supports President Donald Trump.

The ad, dubbed "Oscar Winner," was paid for by KelliPAC, an independent political action committee supporting Kelli Ward for U.S. Senate.

"These claims are false and desperate attacks from a candidate who has been running for the same office for years," McSally's campaign said in a statement. "Martha has been leading on border security in the House, and her border security bill was endorsed by President Trump. Martha is the ONLY candidate in the race working to stop illegal immigration, secure our border and protect Arizonans. On the other hand, Kelli Ward has said President Trump is 'mistaken' in his support for Martha's border security legislation."
