PHOENIX - It's the final weekend before Christmas and shoppers are out in force looking for bargains.
Many stores are staying open late -- some even 24, hours like Kohl's -- to help customers knock out their shopping lists but also to make up some sales.
Saturday is considered the second busiest shopping day after Black Friday and Sunday is the third, so shoppers are expected to come out in droves.
Because of the late Thanksgiving holiday, there were six fewer shopping days than normal and that could cost retailers more $1 billion in sales.
The extra open hours are good for business but also many who haven't even started their Christmas lists yet.
Those odd hours can also help people with hectic schedules.
Shopper Andrea Howard said she didn't get to shop on Black Friday so these hours help her check off her list.
"People who work on the weekends, it's kind of hard to get your shopping done so if you can be open later hours...it's a good thing," Howard said.
Shoppers are encouraged to check specific store hours before heading out.
