Doce Fire: Donations pour in from across Arizona for evacuated residents and their pets

PRESCOTT, AZ - Donations are still pouring in from across Arizona for residents and even their pets affected by the Doce Fire which started last Tuesday northwest of Prescott.

Jason Wallace and Kristen Knauss drove all the way from Sierra Vista in southern Arizona to help out.

Kristen is from the Prescott area and the two run an animal rescue shelter so they collected pet food and supplies for animals that are still stuck at the shelter.

During their eight hour drive, they stopped to pick up all kinds of donations in Tucson, Tempe and Phoenix.

"Toilet paper, tooth brushes, toothpaste, all kinds of stuff for hygiene," Jason Wallace said. "About 400 pounds of animal food for various kinds of animals. A lot of laundry, soaps, basic necessities."

If you'd like to make donations for residents, those can go to the Red Cross.

Fire officials ask you to drop off donations for firefighters at any volunteer fire department, even here in the Valley.
