Navajo, Hopi nations get help after water lines break

FLAGSTAFF, AZ - Arizona's Coconino County and a Phoenix-area utility are providing help to Navajo and Hopi tribal areas where a cold snap broke water lines and left many families and businesses without drinking water.

Coconino County says it is providing a 5,500-gallon tanker trailer in Tuba City to provide potable water.

The Salt River Project says it is sending two four-man crews to the Navajo Nation to help repair broken water lines.

The crews will be taking trucks along with excavation and trenching equipment to the Chinle area.
