SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Police say a pedestrian has died after a being struck by a car in Scottsdale on Wednesday evening.
According to Scottsdale police, officers responded to the incident near Scottsdale and McDowell roads at 6:30 p.m.
Officials say a woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Scottsdale Road.
The woman, later identified as 88-year-old Scottsdale Resident Jung Son Kim, was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash, according to police.
She was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the driver involved in the collision remained at the scene.
No charges are expected to be issued to the driver after the deadly crash, and police say neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors.
Scottsdale police say there have been seven deadly pedestrian-involved crashes within the last 12 months.
