Ryan Cottor, 12, launches video game app with the help of Make-A-Wish Arizona

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Ryan Cottor, a 12-year-old Valley boy who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy, is launching a video game application he created with the help of Make-A-Wish Arizona.

Ryan's genetic condition, which damages his muscles and impairs his mobility, didn't stop him from working with designers from Pixel Jinn over the past three years to create Monkey Wars.

The game features three different characters -- an ape, monkey and gorilla -- who fight alien bad guys trying to take over their island.

On Sunday, June 30, Ryan will launch his iPod application at the Dave & Buster's at Desert Ridge Marketplace, according to a Make-A-Wish Arizona press release.
