Authorities say a man called police to say he'd strangled his wife.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Detectives were on scene of a homicide Wednesday after a man reportedly called 911 to say he strangled his wife in their Scottsdale home.
Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark said a 911 call came in around 11 a.m. from the man reporting that he strangled his wife in their house on N. 103rd Place near Bell Road and Thompson Peak Parkway.
The 61-year-old man came out of the home when officers arrived and submitted to arrest without incident, Clark said.
Police then reportedly found a 60-year-old woman dead in the home.
No one else lives at the residence, and no others were there at the time of the incident, Clark said.
The man remains in custody, and detectives are looking into the circumstances surrounding the death.
