The Arizona Department of Public Safety has identified the motorcycle rider killed in a crash Sunday on the I-17 southbound near New River.
DPS says 56-year-old Bernand Sanchez lost control of his motorcycle and crashed for unknown reasons and was not wearing a helmet.
Sanchez was taken to the hospital but was unable to survive a head injury.
This accident happened just hours before another crash involving 24 vehicles closed the I-17, near Black Canyon City, for nearly nine hours.
