Former world's tallest dog, Giant George, passes away

TUCSON, AZ - Giant George, Guinness World Records' former tallest dog, passed away one month before his eighth birthday in Tucson.

Starting out as the runt of his litter, the famous dog grew to be an astonishing 3 feet, 7 inches from paw to shoulder and almost seven feet long, according to ABC News.

His size landed him a spot on shows like "Live with Regis & Kelly" and "Good Morning America" as well as a place in most dog lovers' hearts.

Fans of the gentle giant have posted to George's Facebook page with their condolences.
