Officers seize 35 pounds of meth worth $540,000 at Arizona border

NOGALES, AZ - U.S Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly 35 pounds of methamphetamine valued at $540,000 in Nogales Tuesday.

A Mexican national was arrested at the Port of Nogales after 32 packages containing meth were removed from the tires of the SUV he was driving, according to U.S Customs and Border Protection officials. The suspect's SUV was selected for further inspection following a positive alert given by a narcotics detection canine.

According to CBP, the vehicle and drugs were seized and the suspect was transferred to U.S Immigration and Custom's Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigators.
