Rocky Marquez is a fugitive after escaping Detroit jail in January, Phoenix jail last year

DETROIT, MICHIGAN - Rocky Marquez, the man who walked out of the Lower Buckeye Jail in Phoenix last year, was arrested in Detroit, Michigan January 14 before escaping again, according to authorities.

Authorities are also looking for a woman he may be traveling with.

Last year, Phoenix police said Marquez took the identity of another inmate to pass by security and walk out the front door.  

He eluded authorities until he was found in Detroit on January 14.

However, police said before he could be transported back to Phoenix, he pulled the same stunt again on January 25 by switching identification wristbands with another inmate who was scheduled to be released.

Authorities called for a nationwide search for the fugitive.

According to Deputy U.S. Marshals, Marquez may be with Catherine Cano, 49, and her three children. Marquez was at Cano's home when he was arrested in Detroit, officials said.

Detroit authorities issued a warrant for Cano's arrest for harboring an fugitive.

Marquez faces charges of perjury, influencing a witness, forgery, felony criminal damage, misconduct involving weapons, driving under the influence, failure to stop and misdemeanor criminal damage.

Officials describe Marquez as a Hispanic male standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Cano is described as a Hispanic female standing 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing about 174 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities say Marquez is considered dangerous. Anyone who spots him is urged to call 911 or the United States Marshals Service Communication Center at 1-800-336-0102.
