Former New York police chief Robert Warshaw to monitor Sheriff Joe Arpaio, MCSO

PHOENIX - An Arizona sheriff whose office was found by a judge to have racially profiled Latinos says he's not concerned about an official who has been appointed to monitor his agency to make sure it isn't making unconstitutional arrests.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says Friday that he has nothing to hide and will work with monitor Robert Warshaw.

The judge overseeing the case appointed Warshaw to monitor Arpaio's efforts to carry out court-ordered changes.

Warshaw is a former police chief who went on to work as a court-appointed monitor in other cases.

He was recommended by attorneys won the racial profiling case.

Arpaio's office has appealed the judge's racial profiling finding and a subsequent ruling that ordered the appointment of a monitor.
