We tell you to check out businesses before hiring them. Here are some quick ways to do that.

Start with an internet search
Search the company, owner, or salesperson name to find complaints and reviews.

Find out whether or not the company needs a license
For contractors go to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors website. Look for actions taken like suspensions and revocations.

Businesses must be registered with the state.
Search the company name to find addresses and officer names.
From there you can search that information to see where else they are connected.

Look for lawsuits
Go to the superior court site in your county, put in the business name and check for lawsuits involving them.
Find out if it's anything that should alarm you.

If you find anything questionable--ask questions. If you don't like the answer, find another company to do business with.
