A man is finally behind bars after sexually assaulting two women in Phoenix 4 years ago.

According to court records, two women walking together near 19th Avenue and Osborn Road on May 24, 2012, when two men in a car approached them.

Phoenix police say the women, in their 20s, were contacted by the two men in the car, one in the front seat and the other in the back seat, when the men forced them into the car, one at knife point.

Four years later, in September 2016, DNA evidence was able to identify one of the men as 54-year-old Anthony Albert Salazar.

The men later brought the women into an alley where they sexually assaulted them, according to records.

Police said Salazar served 8 years in a Florence prison before being released in September 2011, less than a year from the date of the Phoenix attack.

Salazar is being held without bond on charges of sexual assault.
