A 19-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after a fight at a Phoenix intersection.

Phoenix police report that on May 5, they responded to an intersection near 27th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

Witnesses reportedly told police that a man punched another man several times, then left after the victim hit the ground.

Police located the suspect, 19-year-old Mark Anthony Godinez at a nearby grocery store.

Godinez allegedly told police that he exchanged words with a man, after he refused to get out of the roadway.

Godinez then got out of his car and punched the victim, Jerry Zeaman, several times.

Police say Zeaman fell to the ground and struck his head on the pavement.

The victim was transported to a hospital and was removed from life support two days later.

Godinez has been charged with manslaughter.
