Police are investigating after a Valley woman reportedly led officers to a plastic-wrapped body she hid in a dumpster last week.

Phoenix police report that on Friday night they were contacted by 29-year-old Lorenda Gean Ritter, who reportedly told them that she strangled a girl in her apartment.

The victim was found to be an 18-year-old runaway from California.

Ritter brought police to a dumpster near 24th and Van Buren streets, where they found victim’s body wrapped in plastic wrap.

No information was released by police as to why the incident occurred.

Ritter is being held on a $750,000 bond for first-degree murder and concealing a dead body.
