A Phoenix man is accused of jumping out of a window to avoid police officers.

Phoenix Police report that on May 24, a man, later identified as 23-year-old Jamal Donte Davis, pointed a handgun at a man in the parking lot of an apartment complex near 72nd Avenue and McDowell Road, demanding money.

Police say Davis then turned to a woman, who was in her car with three children, pointed his weapon at her demanding her money. It was then that the male victim disarmed Davis, who ran away trying to leave the parking lot. The first victim used his car to block the exit forcing Davis into an apartment.

An employee pointed out to police where Davis was hiding. Police surrounded the apartment and then saw Davis jump from the second story window. He then ran across McDowell Road and jumped over a fence and into a backyard.

Police located him on the patio in the yard.

Davis is being held on a $125,000 bond and is being charged with armed robbery.
