A teenage girl was taken outside the front door of her west Phoenix home and was then sexually assaulted.

Phoenix police report that on October 4 an adolescent juvenile was walking home from a friend's house near 67th Avenue and Van Buren Street, when she saw a man, later identified as 29-year-old Willie James Montra Brunt, following her.

Police say the victim recognized Brunt as someone who lives in the neighborhood. Brunt allegedly grabbed the girl, but she was able to break free. She made it to her home, before she was caught, again as she was reaching for the front door.

Police say Brunt took to an area between houses and sexually assaulted her.

The victim, police say, picked Brunt out of a photo lineup and they arrested him later that day.

Brunt reportedly denied the allegations, saying he had consensual sex with the girl a few days prior.

Brunt is being held without bond on charges of sexual assault and kidnapping.
