PHOENIX — Police say a man was arrested Tuesday after he stole multiple drinks from a north Phoenix Circle K, then dumped a bottle of tea on an officer who confronted him.

According to police, 52-year-old, Augoustinos Boukalis stole four water bottles and a bottle of tea from the store near Cave Creek Road and Cactus Road Tuesday afternoon.

On his way out of the store, Boukalis reportedly shoved a Circle K employee using his shoulder. He then grabbed the assistant manager and pushed them out of the way so that he could escape the store at around 3:15 p.m.

When confronted by police at 3:22 p.m., officials say Boukalis dumped a bottle of tea on the officer and fled, ignoring verbal commands to stop. Boukalis then kicked the officer multiple times and grabbed his handcuffs when the officer attempted to arrest Boukalis.

During the arrest, he also damaged the right side mirror and plate of a Nissan Frontier.

Boukalis is now facing five charges: aggravated assault on an officer, robbery, criminal damage, obstruction-refuse to give true name, and resisting arrest.
