A New York-based mortgage lender and servicer just expanded its office footprint.

The Money Source held a grand opening at its new Valley office. So far, the company has hired 200 workers with plans of hiring 700 more by the end of 2017.

The new 25,000-square-foot office at Washington Street and Priest Drive officially opened in August, however the grand opening celebration was held October 21. The company also has a smaller office in Tempe.

Retail sales, servicing, and executive divisions are the areas which are expanding and boosting employment. A company spokesperson said The Money Source has a Junior Loan Officer Trainee Program and Junior Wholesale Program. It involves a seventeen-week course; new recruits are trained and certified as nationally licensed mortgage bankers.

The company plans to scout for talent at local schools like The University of Arizona.
