You don't have to spend a ton of money to get in the holiday spirit in Arizona. There are more than enough free and reasonably-priced activities, festivals and events to entertain the entire family.

Anthem Holiday Activities

Outlets at Anthem has the tallest freshly-cut Christmas tree in the nation at 115 ft. The white fir is decorated with three miles of LED lights, more than 6,000 ornaments and bows and a handmade 3-foot tall copper star with 300 mini lights adorning it.

Scottsdale Holiday Activities

Christmas at the Princess offers special tree lighting of the four-story high musical tree, music, refreshments, ice skating and activities on opening night. Trees and lights may be viewed every night during this event.

New in 2013: snowfall! On Friday and Saturday nights, November 30 through Christmas Eve, enjoy strolling carolers and take a ride on the "Princess Express" train around the lagoon. Free admission. Charge for skating and kids' ornament craft. The resort will be a drop-off location for Toys for Tots through December 20, 2013.

Friday and Saturday nights, November 29 - December 21 take a photo with Kris Kringle for $10, or the photo is complimentary after dining in any of the restaurants that evening, including Bourbon Steak, La Hacienda, The Grill or Ironwood American Kitchen. Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in North Scottsdale.

Pet Photos with Santa Claus at Paradise Valley Mall

Guests with pets must enter and exit using the mall entrance between Dillard's and Chompie's Deli. Pets should be well socialized, on their best behavior and either on a leash or in a proper pet carrier while inside the mall. All pets visiting Santa will receive a special treat.

Don't stay inside for this Snow Day! Whether you're a kid or just want to feel like one for a day, grab your mittens and head over to the west parking lot off Tatum near Sandbar for loads of fun – and snow!

Enjoy tons of snow, live music from The Rave, cookie decoration provided by Albertsons, milk provided by AZ Milk Producers, face painting and crafts provided by Tutor Time, interactive game from i9 Sports, giveaways, enter to win prizes, activities and more!

On Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be more than 35 tons of man-made snow for families to come out and play (near Sandbar). Live music, cookies, giveaways. Desert Ridge Marketplace, Phoenix.
