Artful Play! Games & Toys
Play is more than amusement. It has a profound influence on most aspects of life. During play, children interact socially, build vocabulary, problem solve, exercise imagination and creativity. The Artful Play! Games & Toys exhibition will feature paintings, sculptures, photographs and other artworks. Art and hands-on activities will provide visitors a chance to develop ideas, learn about play in other cultures and explore the process of designing toys and games. Additionally, the exhibition focuses on the importance of play beyond childhood and encourages active play, with several opportunities to play together. Planned activities for children of all ages include:
·    Creating a virtual pinball game
·    Designing paper planes and test launching on target
·    Exploring games popular around the world
·    Building on a giant wall structure
·    Competing in a racing game
·    Playing life-size games, including charades on stage

Exhibit runs June 15 - Sept. 9, 2018 at the i.d.e.a. Museum, 150 W. Pepper Pl., Mesa. 480-644-4332.  ideamuseum.org
