Phoenix, Ariz. (November 30, 2020) - This month, St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) opened its newest thrift store, located in North Phoenix at 4857 E. Greenway Rd. Suite B. The community celebrated the grand opening on Wednesday, Nov. 11, by shopping and enjoying special discounts to commemorate the occasion, which coincided with Veterans Day. In honor of the holiday, veterans received a 25 percent discount.

But holiday deals aren't over. During the month of December customers can receive 25 percent off ugly sweaters and 10 percent off all jewelry.

The best part about shopping at SVdP thrift stores is that they generate funding for the nonprofit's Valley-wide services, including food pantries, dining rooms, services for the homeless, and charity medical and dental clinics. By supporting the thrift stores, shoppers are helping bring charity services to families and individuals in need.

"St. Vincent de Paul's goal through the thrift stores is to take care of our customers, donors, volunteers, staff and ultimately the people we serve, with kindness and dignity," said Director of Retail Operations Mike McClanahan. "We look forward to this season with new customers, new neighbors and forging new relationships. Please join us and don't forget your face masks!"

The new store is one of six SVdP thrift stores in the Valley and will carry furniture, clothing, artwork, appliances and other household items. The store will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Individuals can drop off donations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the back of the store, or a pick-up may be scheduled online at www.stvincentdepaul.net/schedule-a-pickup.
