Thanks to our great partner, Sanderson Ford, and hundreds of you who submitted nominations we continue our ABC15 salutes Arizona veterans campaign!
Honoree, Retired USMC First Sergeant Patricia Hernandez was the first female to complete the U.S. Marines SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) training on the West Coast. She also received two Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medals and was nominated for a Bronze Star for actions taken while in Afghanistan.
Today, Patricia is a rep for the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program under the Arizona Department of Economic Security. In her role she also works in assisting homeless veterans in obtains necessary skills to order to gain stable employment. She has helped many veterans to end their homelessness by gaining stable employment.
Patricia has helped many homeless veterans gain stable employment which helped them work their way out of homelessness and into stable housing.
Patricia received a $500 gift card courtesy of Sanderson Ford as a thank you for his continued efforts to serve the community.
