Saguaro Bloom is a COVID-19 testing lab and has testing centers across the greater Phoenix area, and focuses on providing a fast, simple and safe testing experience with consistently low turnaround times.
As one of, if not the only labs in the Phoenix Area offering a same day PCR test, Saguaro Bloom has quickly become a magnet for international travelers who are often subject to narrow testing windows imposed by their destination countries.
Many nations have entry requirements for a negative PCR result from a test taken within 72, 48 or even 24 hours prior to arrival. Meeting these requirements is an impossibility under the typical PCR turnaround time from most labs of 72 hours or more. Dr Jesse Greer, a former Green Beret and military physician, founded Saguaro Bloom in the summer of 2020 in response to what he saw as the lack of effective and accessible testing available to Arizonans.
At this time, while case numbers were surging, test appointments were difficult to come by and tests could take up to 1-3 weeks for results. Saguaro Bloom came up with a new model for COVID testing that solved all of these issues.
Using technology and science-backed protocols, Saguaro Bloom has created a simplified registration and test collection system that makes for quicker appointments and painless sample collection. Patients are able to complete their entire testing appointment in 5-10 minutes and are able to get their results in as little as an hour (for rapid antigen tests).
Another extraordinary advantage is the fact that Saguaro Bloom processes all tests on-site at its certified high-complexity lab in Old Town Scottsdale. Tests are processed nearly as soon as they are received. This allows a much faster turnaround compared to testing centers that send samples to off-site labs.
From it’s flagship Scottsdale location, Saguaro Bloom offers Rapid Antigen tests with 1-2 hour turnaround time, as well as RT-PCR tests with either a standard 24-72 hour turnaround time, or an accelerated same-day turnaround.
They have also been able to help those who need to travel internationally on extremely short notice, as is sometimes necessary in family emergencies.
As of February 12th, Saguaro Bloom will be assisting in the launch of a new initiative focused on underserved populations in the West Valley. One unfortunate disparity highlighted by this pandemic is that socioeconomically disadvantaged residents and people of color wait much longer for their test results on average.
