Mackenzie Phillips and Glenn Scarpelli of "One Day At A Time" Reunite on Sonoran Living to Talk About Their New Film On Amazon PRIME, "SACRED JOURNEYS"

"THIS IS IT… This is life the one you get so go and have a ball" is not only the opening line from the theme song of their classic TV series 'One Day At A Time" but also a mantra that these two take to heart. They are appreciating and enjoying every moment of their friendship (which has spanned 40 years); not taking anything for granted.
Today Mackenzie Phillips and Glenn Scarpelli stopped by Sonoran Living to help us all walk down memory lane a bit and also to catch us up on the current projects they are working on NOW.
They both shared their love for Iconic TV Producer (and their old boss) Norman Lear. At 96 years young, Lear has brought the sitcom back to TV on NETFLIX developed with a Cuban cast starring Rita Moreno and Justina Machado. Lear asked both Phillips and Scarpelli to guest star on the show. You can see them both in Season 3 now streaming on NETLIX.
Another project that is near and dear to their hearts is their new film "Sacred Journeys" streaming right NOW on Amazon and Amazon Prime.
The film was shot entirely in Sedona, AZ and was written specifically for Mackenzie and Glenn. "We wanted to make a film together that tells a story of how LOVE can change everything in our lives" said Scarpelli, "We hoped it would shed light on how anyone can overcome dark situations with a little love".
Mackenzie plays a woman dealing with the illness of her son and Glenn plays a man tormented by his past. After finding each other and loving each other as a 'modern family" they begin to find the hope and awareness that can get them through their narrow passage.
The film also stars Stephen Wallem of "Nurse Jackie" fame and includes a beautiful debut performance by young actor Matthew Kosto. The film is directed by Tracy Boyd who has worked on almost every Alexander Payne hit movie.
