Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center is a paid sponsor of Sonoran Living.

My father started his career in a cemetery in Detroit, Michigan at the age of 15. He instantly fell in love with the funeral industry because it ignited his passion for life. My father's passion for the industry is what fueled my generation and is still igniting the passions of the fourth generation of my family.

Ten years ago, Dad wanted to write down his experiences in building a company the owns 7 funeral homes, 2 cemeteries and three businesses that supply the industry nationally. Little did he know that his kids would take that Word doc and turn it into a book. Little did I, or my siblings, know that No One Looks Up to a Grave Digger would become the number one piece of marketing material that we have ever created. My father has a charisma that is infectious.

I wanted to share an excerpt from it for you. I hope that it touches you and helps you to understand why we do what we do at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, Cremation Center & Garden of Eternal Memory Cemetery:

I have done a lot of things in my life and often thought, "Why did I get involved? What is this all about?" I have done a lot of thinking about this and I think it comes to passion. If you have the passion for life, that passion just rolls over and touches everything that you do.

I know the cemetery. I know I was born to be a Cemeterian. Deep down I hope that I have passed this on to my kids. I want to build the best cemetery that we can build - the best one!

My Dad is soon to be 81 and is still in the cemetery to this day. He loves it that much. I'm grateful to be able to share his passion with him. I still have a lot to learn about being a Cemeterian, but I can tell this: I want Camino del Sol's Garden of Eternal Memory Cemetery to be the best one!
